Oakland bishop, speaking for USCCB, says New York legislature ignored ‘common good’ by approving same-sex marriage
In response to last Friday’s enactment of a law redefining marriage in the State of New York, Bishop Salvatore J. Cordileone, chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage, expressed “grave disappointment with the legislature’s abandonment of the common good.”
[...]"Also, as demonstrated in other states where marriage redefinition has occurred, officials there will be in a position to retaliate against those who continue to uphold these basic truths. This is a mark of a profoundly unjust law."  source

Homily:  Podcast 6th Sunday of Easter.  There is something to look forward to:  The Spirit of Truth, The Vision of Hope, and Christian Service to the World.

Celebrant, Solemn Pontifical Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite at the Napa Institute Conference July 28 - 31.

Bishop Conley:

Attends Archbishop José Gomez’s Pallium Celebration, Rome, Italy June 29 -July 3:

I missed his concelebrating the Mass of installation of 8 deacons which happened on the 25th.  The first report I saw was published on the 26th.  I was too dumb to check his schedule.  Duh!!

Bishop Etienne:

Posted 3 great discourses on his blog.  One on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, One of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and one on Humility.

He also posted on his attendance of the Diamond Jubilee of the Benedictine Sister's of Our Lady of Grace Monaster where his aunt and sister serve.

I come up with 6 NOT counting the Latin Mass and the statement on same-sex marriage (a smack down??).  Not sure how to count those.  I'll leave it up to our fearless, handsome, and brilliant leader.
